Imagine Architecture is a multi-award-winning architectural design practice founded in 2002 by Tony Biesiek. With studios in Tauranga and New Plymouth, we design residential, commercial and civic projects throughout New Zealand.

Over the past two decades we have delivered more than 1,000 architectural commissions, ranging from bespoke homes and Passive House projects to commercial facilities, education buildings and property developments. Our experience also includes significant projects in Australia and Italy, giving our team valuable international design and project delivery expertise.

Tony is a Certified Passive House Designer and a strong advocate for performance-based architecture. Our work focuses on buildings that are well insulated, airtight and properly ventilated, creating spaces that are comfortable to live in, energy efficient and built to last.

Our design philosophy is inspired by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Glenn Murcutt, who encourages architects to “touch the earth lightly.” Rather than forcing buildings onto a site, we carefully study the landscape, climate and environment so the design responds naturally to its surroundings.
